Choose the right Goethe certificate: A1–C2
A1 and A2 focus on familiar situations. B1 and B2 require more connected communication and explanations. C1 and C2 demand more precise expression and understanding of complex material.
Before choosing a level, check what your receiving institution requires. If you need proof for university admission or a professional application, ask for the exact accepted certificate name rather than relying only on a level label.
Exam structure: reading, listening, writing and speaking
Prepare all four skills. Reading and listening practice should include reviewing the evidence for each answer. For writing, check that you covered every content point. For speaking, practise both a structured answer and a response to another person.
At modular levels, plan separate checkpoints for each skill. Download the official sample materials for the adult or youth version you will take. Follow their time limits, task instructions and permitted aids.
Official scoring and passing criteria

There is no single worldwide Goethe exam price. Ask your selected centre for the fee at your level, whether you are booking all modules or an individual module, and any conditions attached to the quoted price.
